_{"I didn't think I could do it.
It had been years since I had picked up an epee or a mask. I had been shocked when they asked...I had barely just arrived, and they trusted me within something like this. I wasn't sure whether to be happy, or worried.
I decided to be worried.
Worried that I would fail.
Worried that I would let them down.
Worried that with so many ponies watching me...I would cave, crumble, and fall to pieces in front of them.
I couldn't do it, I thought to myself.
I couldn't stand out there...and fight for them.
I was scared.

The Chariot...Is that the card you fates have in store for me? No, it's simply you telling me...Whether I succeed or fail, I must move forward.
I will stand strong then.
. . .
The lights were bright, and there were so many ponies in the stand. Their applause was deafening all up to the point for my match.
I stood rigid before him--the stallion that was my opponent. He seemed confident...Smug, as though he could sense my fear behind my mask.
We advance.
The first point became his.
He had a strong arm...and I began to doubt myself. But it was just as the Chariot says--I must move forward.
And I must trust myself.
We get back into stance, and we lunge again. This time, I would glissade...the second point was mine.
Advance. Feint. Glide. Invite...We fight.
The score is even again, at two to two. This final match would decide the winner. My plastron felt a little stifling and I admit I was getting a bit sweaty...but so was he. We prepare to advance again...and then we lunged.
No matter what...I have to move forward.
I have move forward!"

Also, to clarify, the Chariot is one of the tarot cards. Its meaning talks about 'getting what you want', and 'struggles'. An 'eventual hard-won victory over enemies, obstacles, nature, or uncertainties within yourself'. The Chariot card is all about motion, while remaining stationary, which indicates a union of opposites that while pull in opposite directions, can be made to go forward with the proper will.
